We heard it’s International Women’s Day…

Watching Community like a fucking boss~

I love this show. So much.

When is October 19th going to get here, NBC? D:

I like Course Listing Unavailable because of Annie. And also because it’s pretty much how I feel about the show at the moment.

I like most things because of Annie. And also Jeff.

Also, Jeff/Annie shippers, PLEASE tell me the official-unofficial song for your ship is Home by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes. Because if it isn’t, it totally should be.

RvB/Community?: Shore Leave

North wasn’t one to drink alone. He went to bars with people, laughed with people, kept an eye on people.

But he had been ordered, mandatory, solitary shore leave. The Director wanted him to have a break from his sister, from familiarity, from everything. When those things had been stripped away, his comic books and vintage movies and even his armor, well. All the common ground he had sat on the counter in a glass half full of ice.

He glanced over as a girl deposited herself into the seat next to him with a sigh. He’d seen her walking around the bar all night, smiling and talking to the bartender and anyone who would listen in that odd Southern accent she seemed so proud of, claiming she was from Texas.

That thought brought another drink to his lips at the things and people he was missing on the Mother of Invention.

“Howdy,” she said with a smile. He nodded. She extended a cautious hand in front of him. “I’m Caroline Decker!”

He took the hand because she offered it with such enthusiasm, such glee, that he couldn’t bring himself to deny her. “I’m North,” he said.

“Like the direction?” she asked with a slightly furrowed brow of confusion.

“Like the state,” he said automatically. “North Dakota,” he clarified.

“Your parents must have some weird sense of humor.” He could tell she was a few drinks in already by how she moved, swaying in the seat. Or it might have just been one drink. She looked like a lightweight.

“Yeah. They do.” He drank to those three words, out of lack of anything to do. “You here with friends?”

She looked around, as if unsure of the answer. “I’m visiting my friend. Annie.”

“Yeah? Where is she?”

“She didn’t come here with me. She’s not-she’s not twenty one yet.” Her eyes darted away from him in the first show of discomfort.

“Well, what do you do, Caroline?” he asked, trying to change the subject.

“Oh,” she said, turning the glass of alcohol in her hands. “Nothing much.”

He sighed as he turned to face her, putting on a smile because if he couldn’t take care of his sister or his friends right now, he could at least watch over this random woman in the bar. “I bet that’s not true.”

“No, Caroline Decker lives her life without a care or worry or attachment in the world.”

“Except for Annie.”

Caroline smiled in an oddly fake way. “She’s only attached to Annie because Annie doesn’t know how to let anything go.”

“And she talks in third person?”

She looks at him sideways and slightly slumps as she adds, “she finds it easier sometimes.” She shut her eyes tight and downed whatever liquid was in her glass before continuing. “Annie is the one that does things. Makes plans. Follows through. She’s the one that’s got her life planned out, everything set up just right. That’s Annie.”

He looked at her, her accent slipping slightly, her lie so blatant that it’s a wonder the other people in the bar believed her. Maybe they just hadn’t cared. “Well,” he said. “Annie sounds exactly like the kind of person I’d like.”

“Really?” she said, hopeful, before she remembered the character and settled back down in her seat.

“Yeah. Caroline, no offense, but sometimes life needs plans. Sometimes it’s more fulfilling that way.”

The girl, Caroline, Annie, whoever, she looked at him and left her palms on the counter as her body swayed closer to his and her lips made contact. At first he thought she had just simply aimed badly, going for a cheek kiss, but as she pressed her parted lips into his, all such thoughts left his mind.

He moved his hand to find the back of her head through her long brown hair, keeping her with him for a moment and he leaned in, as he let her sit back down on her chair comfortably and encouraged this human contact.

When she paused, he let his hand fall and she looked at him with her incredibly blue eyes and he was reminded of a girl, not so long ago, one he’d left behind to be a hero, one whose name he kept on a small piece of paper in his wallet, written out carefully with a pen, and he leaned down to her and let his lips find hers again and let her take what she needed from him - assurance, comfort, reinforcement - as he took a memory from her.

“You don’t really want this,” he said quietly as she followed his face slightly after the kiss, craning her neck towards him.

“Of course I do. This is exactly the kind of thing I do,” she said with a shrug and an unconvincing fake confidence.

He smiled. “Caroline, like I said. Annie sounds more like my kind of girl.”

She seemed to frown at this for a moment before realization at his smile hit her and she answered with one of her own, a cautious one, a grateful one. She turned and walked back to the other side of her bar with her empty glass, and he turned to face his drink one more, the remnant of a smile on his lips.

She walked out with four other people, presumably real friends of hers, a little bit later. She was almost at the door when she turned and walked up to him, handing him a small and folded piece of paper and running after her group without explanation.

He opened it, smiled, and put the phone number in his wallet, next to another, much older piece of paper. He looked down at his unfinished drink and paid his tab, deciding that a few weeks of shore leave might be a good thing after all.

#AND SO JEFF ATE HER WHOLE FACE OUT

Before I go on about the last gif in the tags, let me just talk about THEIR FACES in the first gif.  Because.

  • she smiles, and it’s this excited, nervous,
  • EXCITED smile
  • and he’s watching her
  • and when she first moves in a little he squints at her a tiny bit like,
  • ‘oh, really?’
  • like he’s surprised and intrigued
  • and then his smile fades a tiny bit as he leans in
  • because now he sees where it’s going
  • and he likes it
  • and then they kiss
  • and okay, it’s not like the most spectacular kiss of all kisses, but it’s sweet and they just fit together really nicely
  • and she’s just thinking, ‘I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it’ and she does and it’s nice and he kisses back
  • there’s this teeny little moment where she realizes that in the middle
  • it’s not just this tiny little peck on the lips, it’s a real, two-person kiss
  • see, he tips his chin out a little bit at the end
  • like he’s about to change angles and keep going
  • but she pulls back because she was on her tiptoes and she couldn’t quite balance like that
  • not like, oh, our kiss made my ankles weak, but like, she’s in heels and it’s hard to balance on your toes while kissing a tall man okay?
  • so there’s this pause and she looks up at him and her face is so fantastic like, ‘well?’
  • AND HIS FACE
  • HIS FACE IS JUST
  • OH
  • and his whole face gets a little dark and a lot intent and he steps back in
  • (whilst grabbing her around the waist, which is freaking beautiful)
  • AND THEN THE MOST SPECTACULAR KISS OF ALL KISSES HAPPENS
  • AND THERE’S MOUTHS OPENING AND HANDS EVERYWHERE
  • SORRY WESTLEY AND BUTTERCUP, THEY BEAT YOU
  • *drops mic*

Love this gif set.

Loved this moment.

Does Annie ever wear pants?

I need photographic/screenshot evidence

for science

and also lazy cosplay?

She wore jeans and a tshirt in the episode where her and Britta fight in the oil (the episode where Pierce’s mom dies).

She also wore pants in 1.06 (football feminism and you) and 3.09 (Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism).

and also in 1.03,in the scene where she stands on the desk.

and tumblr delivers! :D

I was going to be nitpicky and ask if it really counted as an “Annie” outfit in The Psychology of Letting Go, because by the time she wears pants she’s trying to act like Britta?

But she apparently has all these other pants-wearing instances I couldn’t remember!

(I say “all” but there’s, like, four? Four instances in 3 full seasons. She must have borrowed the pants from a friend.)

Thanks for answering, guys :D

timetravelresetbaby asked: "because i can / cause no one can stop me / cause it makes up for things i've lost / to feel your tug on my soul / and the slap of your gaze over my face" - world/inferno friendship society, "addicted to bad ideas"

There was a certain point, she figured, when “I’m just a twenty year old girl” would stop being an excuse. She was smart enough to know this was really, really stupid, much more so than her crush on Troy. Than her constant flirtation with Rich. This was so much more stupid than she’d allow herself to be.

She convinces herself that he’s nicer than he is, and for a while she thinks it’s working, her subtle trick is encouraging him to be nicer. But, like always, he turns it around with a defensive jab of the old Jeff, the lawyer Jeff, the one she never thought attractive, and she has to start building from the ground up again. It’s happened often enough that she doesn’t mind it.

She doesn’t realize how horrible that sounds.

She knows at some point her defensive, reflexive hiding behind her age will stop distracting people from the fact that she’s in love. And she knows they won’t understand when she tells them she’s not, not really. She’s not in love with Jeff.

She’s in love with what Jeff can be.

And she knows, somewhere, how stupid it all is, how dumb of a statement and a feeling it is, how she’s setting herself up to fall so spectacularly.

But then he smiles at her, or says “milady”, or does something decent and slightly redeeming, and she hides beind “I’m just a twenty year old girl” for a bit longer.

Annie Edison?

Am I doing it right?

Oh, put it in a letter, Jane Austen!

This is my new response to people. ALL PEOPLE. Courtesy of Annie and Community and awesome.

Oh god and everything Troy ever says ever.

I love this show so much.

Also! One more.

Abed Don Draper from Mad Men was amazing.

But Annie’s little “I liked it~” at the end. All of the yes. All of the please.
